“To Retreat or Not Retreat...That Was the Question!”

Way before COVID entered our lives, plans were put into motion to hold our biennial Christian Life Fall Retreat at the Macleay Retreat Center September 17 – 19, 2021. Everything was on track. And then, our world suddenly changed.

This past January the Christian Life Committee, along with Pastor Ted, Pastor David and President Carol sat down (on Zoom, of course) and discussed the Christian Life Fall Retreat for 2021.

What will it look like? Will Macleay be open? Will we be able to gather in person? How many people will plan to attend during these times? And the list of questions continued.

And as discussions took place, one thing was evident, the safety and well being of those who would come to the retreat took precedence. And as we prayed and talked, the Holy Spirit led us to think differently about our retreat.

What if we did a day retreat? What if we found a place that could safely allow social distancing? Could the place have an outside venue area if we did it in the summer? And how about a central loca;on, can we find that? One church seemed to offer everything that we were looking for: Living Savior Lutheran Church.

So, ladies, WE WILL BE RETREATING IN 2021 at a day long Christian Life retreat on August 21, 2021, at Living Savior Lutheran Church in Tualatin, OR.

We will sing praises to God in all His glory! We will have Bible studies, fellowship, lunch, an ingathering activity, and glorify God as we worship and sing His praises!

Always Becoming Contagious Disciples” will be our retreat theme.

Our scripture passage comes from 1 Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Are you ready to discover the gifts God has given you at this time in your life? Are you ready to be a “Contagious Disciple” for Him?

If you are, please complete and mail the registration form by August 1. The registration fee is $30.00 and includes a boxed lunch. We will start at 11:00 am and end by 4:00 pm, but plan to arrive a bit early to be able to  in for a day filled with inspiration and spiritual growth. Doors will open at 10:30 am.

If for some reason, we are unable to hold the retreat in person in August, we will still have the retreat day and celebrate together electronically.

As Pastor Ted once said, “Where God guides, God provides.”

Blessings and I hope to see you in August!
